Health Insurance

By mid-February I recognized that my monthly health insurance premium had not been taken from my Medicare allotment, and had not been charged to my credit card. A contact with the home office assured me that I was still insured and that due to the foul ups at the Government level the fee should come out of my March Social Security. Didn't happen! It didn't happen today either. I talked with John Morrison at the Democrat dinner Saturday night and he gave me a number to call if there was further need to straighten things out. I called and then called New West again. This time the gal who anwered me told me that I could change the option of taking things from Social Security to charging it to my American Express. Now I can check that account come mid-month and see that the $328 due has been credited. At any rate I am still insured and have no fear of seeing my Internist come the middle of April.

Now , see, if I had things done automatically, I would never check to see if it had been done properly. That's why I have to write the checks myself!

Bah! Humbug! That is why you check the accounts on-line, to be sure the automatic stuff happened. :-P
