Father's Day

What a great day for Dad. At Church this morning I realised that I have something in common with God. We are both "Fathers". The main difference is that He had only one son, and I have had eight. Of course Jimmy is now dead (himself an honored father) and one son didn't make it past 24 hours. AND, I have an honored daughter. When the Pastor asked for congregational prayer this moring (something I don't take lightly) I thanked God that He let's us call him Father, and that I am myself a father.

Then, this afternoon I sat for most of the day enjoying the U.S. Open Golf match with my youngest son and receivng telephone calls from all of the others - Ken, Ann, David, Will, and Paul. It was good to catch up with them and to know their love for the "Old Man." Be it here known that I love each of you, your spouses and your own kids.

And we love you. I am ever in awe of the size of the Taylor clan. Mine keeps getting smaller and smaller. I am glad I am part of the Taylor family.
