I've always loved this picture. It was taken somewhere at a reststop/picnic area on the Oregon Coast as we were traveling to Bandon for a visit in the summer of 1985. Betty would have been 59 and I would have been 60. We were, indeed, still young and carefree. We took the hats with us as they somehow spoke to our joy together. That beautiful smile of Betty's is in nearly every picture I have of her including all of the pictures taken at our wedding and reception.

This is truly an excellent picture! What joy of life you both give off.
I totally love Aunt Betty's hat. I've taken to wearing them again. There is a lady at church who wears one weekly and I've taken to following along. It is fun! I even remember wearing hats all the time when a child and going to church. My Mother had some fantastic ones. Hmmm...I wonder if she still has them?
Thanks for sharing!
