Party Time

This weekend last year we were all looking forward to a big family party celebrating birthdays and anniversaries. It all started when Paul and Louise wrote that they would be coming to Billings to celebrate their 10th Wedding anniversary and Louise's birthday. The next thing we knew as that Willie was also planning to come. Jim and family would be here as their 20th Anniversary was also in October. Ann and Bill would come as many of the rest would be here as would Ken. They are all in Montana already. Since all of the rest were coming I made it possible for David to come as well That way all of the kids would be here for their mother's 80th birthday. In less than two months time she passed away from acute leukemia and septic shock. Ten months later Jimmy would succumb to lung cancer which he had fought for a long time. My memories remain deep for the good times we had and the fact that all could be together for that one last time. With us as well as our kids were all of twin brother John's family with their daughter Lisa also having an October birthday. Louise's parents also came up from Colorado. It was a time of great celebration. Let's see: Birthdays; Louise, Cecilia, Lisa, John, James R., and Pete. Anniversaries: Paul and Louise (10), and Jim and Cec (20). What a great time!

Life is good! I was at the new SuperTarget last night. I have been nursing a sore ankle for a couple weeks. I grabbed a basket and did some shopping. As I hobbled along, I was leaning on the cart and started to whistle aimlessly. As I did started to whistle, I stopped and smiled to myself. Many of you know why.

It has indeed been a time of memories. I find my self rembering all the family fellowship we shared at the party and my memories move to the shock of losing mom, and back to the fellowhip of our extended families. We have a great family and I'm proud to be a part of it.
